There’s something about coming to Oxford that always feels like coming home for me. As a Wexford resident, I know how special this place is to the people of the entire northern region of Pittsburgh. As a professional, Oxford marks two important chapters in my career. The first was from 1995-2001, when I first served as Oxford’s General Manager. Back then, there were still two clubs: Oxford East, in Monroeville, and our club, Oxford North.
Many things have changed in the two decades since then. Oxford is no longer one of two clubs; it now stands alone. We’re also under new ownership from earlier this year. We’re in a time of tremendous change. Our Club is on the precipice of some much-needed renovations to the facility in the upcoming year. Today, we launch an entire new brand, complete with this beautiful new website and logo you’re currently looking at. Oxford is changing and evolving, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.
But even as we head into this exciting new chapter, what always remains at Oxford, through any change that may come our way, are our members. You, our members, make everything possible. Your long-standing loyalty, commitment to, and passion for this Club are what drew me back all these years later to once again serve as your GM. Your devotion to this Club is the driving force behind these new changes you are seeing and will continue to see over the coming months. Without you, none of this would be possible.
As you explore this new site and begin to see the changes we will be making to this incredible facility, I want you to know that you are first and foremost what we consider in every decision being made. We believe this new website and brand will be a phenomenal representation of our Club and our membership. We are thrilled to be able to offer you a more functional and useful site, something you have been asking about for some time now. As our new mission statement says, we are committed to excellence in everything we do. Oxford is a kind of home for all of us, and this new brand is built with that sentiment as its core, guiding principle. This place is truly so more than an athletic club; it’s a way of life. And we thank you for continuing to be an integral part of it.
