Pitt Tennis Announces New Home at Oxford Athletic Club

Pittsburgh, PA (January 17, 2018)– This week, the University of Pittsburgh tennis team announced a new home for all practices and competitions. Beginning with the kickoff of the Panthers regular season on Saturday, January 20, Oxford Athletic Club will be the team’s new home facility.

“We have always been passionate about tennis at this facility and to have the opportunity of having a Division I program play at Oxford Athletic Club is great for our facility and membership,” GM Jeff Esswein stated in a recent release shared by the Panther team. “Coach Santos and his team bring a level of energy and excitement that we love having in the facility. There is not a better facility in Western Pennsylvania to be hosting ACC Tennis. This is a great partnership for Pitt and OAC.”

In the same announcement, the team’s Head Coach Alex Santos also released the team’s 2018 regular season schedule.

“I feel that the word that best describes the way I feel about our schedule is excitement,” Santos stated. “I really like our group and I am curious to find out how far can we go and how hard can we push ourselves to be the best we can possibly be. We have talent, passion, and ambition and if we acquire confidence, maturity, and resilience along the way we will succeed.”
