CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Ab & Glutes – This class focuses completely on the mid-section with exercises to strengthen abdominals and back.

Boot Camp ‘Fusion’ – A class designed for the highly trained individual.  First half-hour focuses on lower body workouts/agility drills.  Second half-hour focuses mainly on upper body strength with cycles of calisthenics  featuring abdominal work and push-ups.

Cardio Mix – A heart-pumping blend of step, hi/lo impact and strength training exercises.  Sure to leave you feeling energized.

ChiselOxford Athletic Club’s signature strength training class!  A non-impact workout using dumbbells, body bars, dynabands, tubing, and the resist-a-ball to strengthen all muscle groups.   This class is appropriate for all skill levels, there is no choreography.

Funky Step – A cardio step workout with a ‘funky’ twist!

Kickboxing – Jab, hook, and uppercut your way to a toned upper body and lean legs.  This class combines upper body boxing moves with lower body kicks, intervals, traveling patterns.  Classes have the option of target contact after class.  This class delivers a high intensity workout.  Choreography is appropriate for all skill levels. 

Resist-A-Ball (RAB) Training – Core stability classes based on use of the RAB.  May include use of weights and resistance tubing.  For all levels of exercisers, modification of exercises demonstrated.

Power Pump – A great strength workout emphasizing muscular endurance with high repetitions and multiple sets.

Step Interval – A class combining timed intervals of step patterns with strength exercises for a total body workout.  This class is good for all levels; there is a moderate degree of choreography.

Total Body Workout – This class offers something for the entire body…cardio, strength, balance, flexibility.

Zumba An interval fitness program, inspired by Latin dance and music, using a variety of styles in its routines that includes merengue, salsa, mambo, rumba, flamenco and calypso.  Music selections include both fast and slow rhythms to help tone and sculpt the body.

Spinning is included with our Specialty Classes,
Pilates Matwork
and Yoga.

 These classes are free to Governor’s memberships and available to Health Plus and 65+ memberships for $5/class:

the Fitness Desk or by calling Ext. 137.

Class size is limited. 

The Spinning Zone is located across from
the Fitness Desk and Squash Courts.

Spinning – Experience the ultimate cycling journey for total body conditioning.  Work at your own level while being motivated by your instructor.  Spin Express is a 45 minute version of this popular workout.

Bi-Athlon – Class involves cycling, and  run/walking drills.

Spin Heart RateA class based on heart rate designed with a flowing ride, more accurate road simulations and fluid transitions.  Training with a heart rate monitor will accurately gauge your intensity and objectively categorize training sessions.  **The first Saturday of every month the  7:15 AM ride is 90 minutes **

Training Wheels Spin – The perfect ride for beginners.  Learn the basics of indoor cycling and begin building your aerobic conditioning base.

Zen Spin – The perfect combination; Spinning for a great cardio and muscular endurance workout meets Yoga for flexibility, balance and core strength.
